Where to begin with these two. They just melt me. I've known Suzanne for a few years now, we met each other in College and stayed in touch. She was my go-to girl in class when I really didn't want to be there (which was 99% of the time, I have no patience for sitting in a classroom haha).
I met Joliana & Rich a year ago at my studio. They instantly stole my heart with their contagious personalities, and Joliana's smile could light up a room. Seriously, just look at her. We hit it off right away, and quickly realized we were a perfect match.
This engagement session is too beautiful not to post. Sally & Mazen did a pre-wedding shoot just before their big day, and we ventured around downtown Hamilton and Dundurn castle to get these shots.
There's so many beautiful things I get to experience with my job. But one thing that will never get old, is being able to document a proposal.
The emotions are so raw. The adrenaline is high, and normally I'm keeping this secret from one half of the session and have to bring my CSI liar skills to the table (sorry Erin). Whether I'm helping the groom-to-be plan the proposal from the get-go, or they spring it on me spur of the moment during the shoot, it will never get old.
Back when I started getting into wedding photography, I would second shoot to gain experience. Second shooting is both weird, and exciting. Weird because you don't get to interact with the couple prior to the wedding, you kind of just, show up, and shoot the biggest day of their life.
This wedding was very special to me. This was the first wedding that I got to work alongside my father for. Yes, my dad! For those who don't know, my dad DJ's weddings as a part-time gig. Also, the Spice Factory is by far one of my favourite venues in Hamilton. It's so cozy, and right up my alley (style-wise). Give me those exposed brick walls any day, and Katie's happy.
Kalyn and Nick decided to tie the knot last November surrounded by family, friends, and their precious baby girl Blakely. We ended up at the RBG for some group portraits and finished off at the Grand Olympia in Hamilton.
Where to begin with these two! I hold The Cowen's very close to my heart for many reasons. Tara and Brett were one of the first couples who trusted me from the beginning, long before Katie Marie Photography blossomed into what it is today. Β
