Andrea + Steven // Hacienda Sarria Wedding - Kitchener, ON

I have never seen a love so beautiful, pure, raw, and mesmerizing until I met Andrea and Steven.

The sparkle in their eyes as they talk about each other, and the breathtaking vows they said at the ceremony. Oh, those sweet, beautiful vows. To this day, I still can’t read or listen to them without crying.

“I’ll be the one to wipe your tears from happiness or from sadness. I promise to give you my best advice. To lift you up when you’re weak, and to rejoice with you when you’re strong. I promise to guide you with love if your path is crooked, and to cheer you on when everything is going well. I promise to sit with you in the darkness, and I promise to sit with you in the light and to love you in all aspects of life, and be your best friend and wife.

Their faith was beautiful. Watching Andrea and the girls pray before the ceremony, that calm and peaceful moment amidst the chaos, to reflect and give thanks.

Everything. Everything about this day was perfect. Their love, this venue, the emotion. I could happily re-live this day for the rest of my life, it was magical.

Their wedding took place at the Hacienda Sarria in Kitchener, Ontario, which speaks volumes for itself. It was like something straight out of Europe. I left my heart in Europe a few years ago, and this gave me a little taste of what I’ve been missing for so long. Anything with a European vibe speaks to my soul - and this venue was like being a kid in a candy store for me.

We started off the morning with some prep shots, and did a “first touch”. They wanted to see each other at the altar for the first time, so we opted out of the first look. However, as they both got ready at the same venue I wanted to take advantage of having them both together before the ceremony. We brought them to a corner in the bridal suite and had them stand back-to-back on a wall. They held hands, shared some thoughts, prayed, and gave each other some warm wishes before the ceremony. It definitely eased their nerves, and it was such a beautiful moment. Holding hands with your hubby/wife to be, yet not seeing them while doing so - is such a cool concept. If you’re on the fence about a first look, consider a first touch! Or even a “let’s stand behind a wall and read each other a note” instead.

The ceremony and reception took place at the Hacienda, and Andrea and Steven even kicked off the night with a choreographed dance to get the party started.

All in all, it was one of my most memorable experiences last year, and definitely one of my favourite venues to date. Anything that reminds me of my homeland (Portugal), is a winner in my books :)
