Suzanne + Connor // Traditional Vietnamese Couples Session / Dundurn Castle, Hamilton

The Hines. Where to even BEGIN with these two. I met Suzanne back in college and we quickly became friends. She introduced me to Connor around the time they started dating, and I knew right away they had an amazing bond and it was going to flourish.

Fast forward almost 10 years, Suzanne contacted me to see if I would photograph their wedding. With a full heart, I graciously accepted.

We shot their engagement session, and then wedding, both of which were incredible.

Suzanne wanted to honour her Vietnamese culture by wearing the traditional Vietnamese outfits during the reception at their wedding. They changed right at the end of the night - so we barely had time to take photos in the outfit. Only getting a few quick shots on the wedding day, we decided to do a “post-wedding” session, where they got to throw the traditional outfits back on and have a PROPER photo session. Relaxed, no stress or timelines, and another fun session to freeze these moments in time.

Wedding days can be very hectic. Based on hourly coverage and timeline planning, it can get rushy. I love when clients are open to post-wedding photo sessions to get a few extra shots to compliment the full wedding gallery. Definitely a great excuse to wear your outfits again ;) right? Who doesn’t want to! How fun :)

We shot these down at Dundurn Castle in Hamilton. I chose this location because I felt it would compliment the outfits beautifully and give off a royal vibe with the castle. Needless to say, I’m obsessed with how these turned out. Enjoy!
