Danielle + Austin // McMaster University & Dundas Engagement Session
Danielle and Austin! I can’t even look at these images without grinning ear-to-ear. This day was so incredible, for SO many reasons.
For starters, we headed off to Mac for some dreamy architectural shots. Then, we switched up the vibe and went around the corner to sweet lil’ Dundas - aka, one of my favourite spots in the City. It’s just fricken’ adorable there, #amirite?
NOW, something wild and bizarre happened this day. As we were just about to leave, I noticed a really cool wall mural I’ve never shot at before. I asked them to stop and take a few quick photos.
As we approached the wall, I saw Danielle getting super emotional. I asked if she was alright, and she looked at me with teary eyes saying “Katie.. it’s a train.”
Danielle’s grandfather (whom she was extremely close with) passed away a few years ago, but he continues to send her signs that he’s all around her. And trains - well, trains were his thing.
Danielle grew up in Dundas but hasn’t been back for a while. Thus mural is fairly new too, so she had never seen it before. The fact that I stopped at this specific wall, and the fact that it was a mural of a train, the neighbourhood she grew up in - isn’t just a coincidence. Oh, and a BIG shout out to Nonno for holding off on the rain for our session too. Danielle, you are so blessed. He’s watching and saying hello in the most beautiful way. I’m so glad I was able to gift this moment to you, and able to witness something so incredible.
Covid may have changed your wedding plans (as they were supposed to get married this June), but with a guardian angel like this looking over you, have faith that everything is working out exactly as it’s meant to be. I can’t wait to photograph your big day next year.
