Stephanie + Jorden // Port Ryerse, New Limburg and Vittoria Engagement Session

One of the best parts about this job is getting to meet so many different couples and tag along for their journey. During the booking stage, we get to know each other a bit, but not nearly as much as we do during an engagement session.

Engagement sessions are the bomb. I know I’ve said it before, but getting to hang out with your clients for a few hours is such a great opportunity to get to know them a little better leading up to their wedding day.

For example, Stephanie & Jorden. I’m photographing their wedding this summer and I got to shoot an adorable engagement session at their home, and in the city/towns their story began.

We even managed to make it back to the EXACT same spot they had their first date back in high school. How cool is that? While I love to give options and ideas for your session, I absolutely LOVE when you have a specific spot/location in mind that holds a lot of meaning to you both. At the end of the day, this is YOUR story. Let’s take it all the way back to the beginning.

We started this session off at their home in Vittoria, Ontario. The same spot the wedding will be taking place later this year. Then, we ventured off to one of their favourite breweries in the area, New Limburg. From here, we went to Port Ryerse, where Jorden grew up and they had their first date. Three different locations, three different spots that hold so much meaning to them.

I encourage my clients to make the session about YOU. What’s your story? Let’s incorporate that into your images. So one day, when you pull out your old albums (yes people, print your images!!!), you can show your grandkids the exact spot you had your first date - because at the end of the day, it’s all about you.
